About the Lexington School of Ballet
The Lexington School of Ballet was established to provide the highest quality dance training available, offering an outstanding faculty of Boston’s finest and most dedicated teachers.
Whether students are pursuing a career in ballet or studying for
their own personal enrichment, the Lexington School of Ballet
encourages them to reach their full potential as dancers and as individuals
while striving to meet the high standards of today’s ballet
world. Our mission is to instill a respect for the traditions of ballet by
introducing the principles of each step with order, progression, and
increasing complexity. Students are encouraged to work diligently
and cooperatively to develop their own creativity and individual
artistry. Personal attention and proper class placement ensure the
orderly advancement of each of our students.
Students trained at Lexington School of Ballet are dancing with
modern and ballet companies throughout the country. Many are
also accepted each year into prestigious apprentice and summer
programs, including American Ballet Theatre, Joffrey Ballet, School
of American Ballet (New York City Ballet), San Francisco Ballet
and Royal Academy of Dancing, London. At the same time, students
pursuing serious dance training at LSB have also maintained excellent academic records, allowing them admittance to some
of the country’s most competitive schools. Recent LSB graduates
are currently attending Harvard, Barnard, Cornell, Brown and
Columbia Universities.
The Lexington School of Ballet encourages our students to use the
art of dance to help enrich the community. Recent outreach programs
have included yearly fund raising performances for Children’s
Hospital Boston; a performance where all proceeds benefited Aids
Research at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute; local nursing home
performances for the elderly; clothing drives; and scholarship classes
for special needs students.
We, as faculty, are proud of all of our students and their many
accomplishments. We seek to foster creativity, confidence, and
artistry in our students, whether they are embarking on careers in
professional dance or studying for the pure joy of dancing.
