Faculty and Staff
Mary Petersen - Artistic Director Ms. Petersen began her training in Chicago studying ballet, jazz, and character dance with Lorel Hessler, Walter Camryn and Bentley Stone. Her professional training continued at Joffrey School of Ballet in NYC and at the Royal Academy of Dancing in London, England. She augmented her dance training at the American Conservatory of Music, where she majored in piano and composition, and studied dramatic arts at Harvard University's American Repertory Theatre. Ms. Petersen has taught ballet in New York, Chicago and Boston, and was artistic director of
the New England Dance Ensemble. She received the Massachusetts Arts Grant for choreography. Linda DiBona Brassel - Director of the Advanced Ballet Program Ms. Brassel is a former Principal Dancer with Boston Ballet (Charter Member),
Harkness Ballet of New York, London Festival Ballet, and Basel Ballet. She has been an international guest artist in companies throughout the United States and Europe, and helped found and direct the Newport News Ballet School and Company in Virginia. She has taught at the North Carolina School for the Arts, Eliot Feld’s New Ballet School in NYC, and the Boston Ballet School. Dede Albers - Director of the Character Dance Program/Ballet Faculty Ms. Albers has a BFA in Ballet from the University of Utah. She was the recipient
of a Fulbright-Hays Performing Arts Grant to the Bolshoi Ballet School in Moscow,
Russia. Ms. Albers has been on the Ballet Faculty at the University of Utah and
taught and choreographed for the National Dance Institute in New York City,
working under artistic director Jacques d'Amboise. Gail Fanning Grove - Pre-Ballet, Ballet, Modern Faculty Ms. Fanning-Grove received a BFA in Dance from The Boston Conservatory with
a concentration in choreography, pedagogy, and labanalysis. Her choreography has
been presented throughout New England and she directed a children’s modern
dance company in Boston. Nadine Moody - Ballet Faculty Ms. Moody danced with Agnes DeMille’s American Heritage Dance Theatre and
Ruth Page International Ballet. She has taught at Alvin Ailey and Steps in NYC
and is certified to teach Zena Rommett Floor-Barre. Roseann Ridings - Ballet Faculty Ms. Ridings was formerly with the Boston Ballet. She has taught at the Ballet
Theatre of Boston, the Cambridge School of Ballet, Marie Paquet Classical Ballet,
Jeanette Neill Dance Studio, and was on the Chautauqua Institute Dance
Faculty. Deidre Williams - Director of Jazz Program Ms. Williams has a BA from Boston University. She was a scholarship recipient
at Steps on Broadway in NYC. She has performed in commercials, TV shows,
themeparks, and has choreographed for nationally-ranked figure skaters. Christin Collins - Jazz Ms. Collins is a former LSB student. She is currently at Boston University where she is teaching jazz and hip-hop.

Li-Ann Lim - Ballet, Modern Faculty Li-Ann holds an MFA in dance from the University of California Irvine. She has studied at Lexington School of Ballet, Joffrey Ballet School in New York City, Barnard Dance Department, and Columbia University. Li-Ann holds an MFA in dance from the University of California Irvine. Marlene Woods - Registrar
